Black Sox Park

Baseball Ireland is pleased to announce that the baseball field in Shanganagh Park has been officially renamed to “Black Sox Park” as the home of the Black Sox and in recognition of all the effort the Black Sox have made in developing the field since they moved to Shanganagh in 2005 at the request of Baseball Ireland.

In particular, Kevin Dillon has worked very hard to develop the relationship with the Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council and through the schools with the local community and has given selflessly in support of the club to continue the development of the baseball field which now has permanent backstop poles, a pitcher’s mound, base cut-outs and a storage facility for equipment. Increasing the number of good quality baseball facilities around the country is critical to the continued development of the sport in Ireland and Baseball Ireland are delighted to see the progress the Black Sox have made in the development of the field. We all look forward to lots of competitive games at Black Sox Park!
